Oh The Pain of it All

Postby mstwitch on November 14th, 2003, 8:05 am

I suffer from the cramping-type of BFS. I have started Neurontin at the advice of the Mayo Doctor, however, not sure it is helping with the pain. Was wondering if Neurontin is prescribed to help alleviate the twitching (more so than pain)....any input?? P.S.--I'm slowly supposed to be upping my dose from 300mg/day to 900mg/day.

mstwitch,

the neurontin is supposed to help both the twitching and the pain. For me, it hasn't helped the twitching yet, but really has helped the pain. The major difference between are situation is that I'm starting with three 300 mg pills a day (900 mg) and I'm supposed to work up to 1800 mg's a day. I'm into my 10th day of neurontin with no major side effects, as of yet.

Good luck,
Gary
