Another quotation from medical textbook about fascics

Postby Twyla on July 30th, 2003, 11:17 am

Here's something from a book in our library, Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine - Neurology section (1998 version)

"Fasciculations occur at times in most normal individuals, and unless weakess is also present, they are seldom on any significance. Fasciculations are normal in incompletely relaxed muscles and are frequently observed at rest in the calves of normal individuals."

I noticed that this book is now being sold in Border's and Barnes and Noble, in a smaller, thinner version, and it does not include the above quote.

Hey Twyla...

What a great name! Were you named for Twyla Tharp? Thanks so much for sharing that with us...I am sure that will serve to calm a great many people who come in with mostly calf twitches.

Take Care!

She is a famous American modern dancer. In fact she kinda revolutionized modern dance, so she is up there in fame with Isadora Duncan, who is considered the mother of modern dance.
