Is that drug addictive? I must say the buzz part sounds good. Don't get me wrong I'm not a drug abuser. I do drink occasionally.. sometimes because of twitching.. sometimes just to have fun. Sometimes (just a little pill) is all I need to make me feel better. I know this must sound weird..as I'm weirdly mooded today. :D

Ambien is a great sleep aid for a short period of time but it is absolutely not for long-term use. I think floater was a little far-fetched when he said that it gives you double-vision, etc. but it is very effective in helping you to get some sleep. Most of the doctors I have dealt with have offered to prescribe it for me for a week or so but beyond that it would be too much.

I was on Ambien, and I dont think it did crap for me! I slept OK for about 2-3 hours and then I was up every half-hour on the half-hour.

I am now on a decent dose (37.5mg) of Paxil CR (morning) and 10mg of Elavil at night. Elavil is an old antidepressant that gives you a calmed effect - I sleep like a baby again.

Ambien seems to have a time release kick in it --where your eyes open up and you can't sleep after a few hours.

Ambien (acid?)

Postby Jerryc on April 7th, 2003, 6:29 pm

Just my two cents.
Ambien makes things "move", sort of wavy, if you don't go to sleep right away after taking it. The ceiling, and different objects in your peripherial vision. I've tried it many times over the last 4 years and always wind up throwing them away because it gets too freaky, but then always gave them another shot, but...
Also, seems to give you memory loss too. Of course, if you get to sleep right away, you won't experience this, but, like the other post said, after 3 hours I was up anyway.
