New symptom - heart problems?

Postby Xina535 on May 1st, 2015, 3:51 pm

So I'vs been having this left arm pain right...which also has had an intense heartbeat/pulsating thing going on.

Yesterday, I've had left chest pains, came and went, would say mild to moderate...

Today, I have this awful stabbing pain in the left side of my neck, not in the back, that comes for a few minutes then leaves.

I took my blood pressure 106/83, pulse 75.

Having a bit of health anxiety here, could this be a heart thing and if so, should I go to the ER or take anything at home? Or could this all be due to the plexus neuritis that one neuro says I have, but two neuros say I don't? Or could this be part of just neck pain/herniations? Could this be part of coming off of prednisone? I am still breaking out all over my back/neck/chest/stomach (it's spreading).

Other: I don't have neck pain in the back of my neck (not at all recently), but I have been so tired and lethargic. I fell asleep on the couch today, as a wave of exhaustion suddenly came over me, but I didn't do anything today. It's a holiday here so we didn't have to work.

I appreciate any advice and knowledge sharing.

Hi Xina,

when it is something like an inflammation of nerve, then it could be spreading...As I had a nerve problem in the leg 5 years ago, the pain spread almost bodywide...It went away after a while, but it lasted many weeks/month...do not remember exactly. I had to stay in bed most of the time. Could not walk, went to physio...nobody knew the exact reason why this happened.

Thanks! But the neuro told me that the cortisone stopped the neuritis/inflammation (no longer active) so I wouldn't expect it to spread, and if it is spreading after cortisone, then isn't that bad??

That's why I am worried at these left side things being heart related.

Going to start acupuncture next week with my primary care doctor. I'm going to tell her about this.

Recently discovered heart murmur ...echocardiogram shows arotic stenosis. Immunology reveals high inflamation markers and selective IgM deficiency. Since Christmas ive lost 3 stone in weight without dieting, good news is they cant find any malignancy from bloods or chest xray Cant shrug off infection after infection of upper respiratory Rhinitis Asthma and sinuses. Rashes appearing randomly mainly upper torso ie chest shoulders and neck I fear i might have bacteria in the blood stream and could be dealing with endocarditis.... at the moment i'm waiting to see Cardiologist. Cramping and pain gone off the scale Latest EMG still showing chronic denervation , motor neuropathy fast firing motor unit potentials and moderate neuropathy in both hands like bi lateral carpal tunnel.

My will power is being severely tested right now as i feel my body and senses are being battered relentlessly from head to foot :(

And you Yuliasir deserve a medal for the amount of time and support you give to this forum.

Ive not battled this condition for almost 10 years to throw the towel in, and if anything my resolve will be even greater now.

The main fault with the system here in the UK is although i'm under several different consultants ie Neurology , Immunology. Respiratory (Asthma), ENT , Gastroenterology and now Cardiology none of these specialists want to work together to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together as i honestly feel my condition is Systemic.

I am sorry Raindog. I would think too that something systemic is going on, but it also sounds like you are getting closer to answers, and I hope and wish for you to stay strong. I appreciate your post because it shows me that maybe what is going on with me is immune related or heart related....or something else related...

I have positive ANA with the HeP2 IgG antibodies too!

How did they discover the heart murmur, if you don't mind me asking? Do you also mind sharing what your latest immune/ANA values are? And how did you get that found out - you went to an immunologist? Also, do you have atrophy anywhere?

I agree about Yuliasir deserving a medal!!!

Updating this thread as ive had seven nights in hospital after having a cardiac arrest. Home now and facing more tests in the next couple of weeks. What was mild arotic stenosis has progressed quite rapidly. Any doc out there can shed any light on this? Also myoglobin 7x higher than normal and CKMB 3x above normal could these be so high because of the ongoing denervation or entirely due to the attack? Also Haemoptysis with Low white cell count.

I now wake up on a morning and so long as i cant feel any wood with my elbows then life is generally good.

myoglobine and kinase definitely due to heart attack

as for low white BC count - do not know exactly, but possible after heart attack, as it is a generally high stress. Or aspirine and other trombolytics could cause that.

Thanks Yuliasir. The blood tests i'm referring to was in A/E on admission. I was on all sorts on the ward inc injections into the lower abdo. Only med i refused was the high dosage lipitor statins mainly because i dont believe they do any good to someone who has good lifelong low cholesterol levels.

Been a while but i'm still here ....still in the process of further tests and still waiting for an angiogram doing. I got the results of a chest CT scan Tuesday which indicted no lung problems as chest was clear but i had the misfortune of it picking up an Adrenal adenoma. Now in the process of being referred to an Endocrinologist :?

Anyone see a pattern or clues to piece the puzzle together ?

Hope so Yuliasir.

I was wandering if it the heart problem was triggered because of one of those Addisons crisis episodes as its very similar to what happend to me. I also see a case of Adrenal carcinoma in Dr Harts paper in respect to PNH paranioplastic syndromes which is a little concerning. However i'm still stood at the crease with bat in hand so not out yet though

I think 8 years are a bit long for paraneoplastic syndrome... cancer usually develops quite quickly fter a silent period unless a person is not 70+ years old... so I do not think it is paraneoplastic PNH in your case... and adenomas are usually benign. Addison itself is a very unpleasant thing and by the way, it develops for a long time and causes muscular issues/weakness, spasms due to metabolic problems, so probably the chain is vice versa - slowly developed LACK of cortisole could cause your neuromuscular condition, then heart attack due to any reason, then boom - Addison crise (normally following any issues like acute infection trauma, acute stress - I think heart attack is a good candidate) and they found that adrenal glands are affected :((( hold on. I know you are a real champion and you have all my hope and best wishes.
