Update after 1 year and 2 months

Postby Gamindsoc1509 on November 10th, 2014, 5:16 am

Hi all :)

No I am not dying. Lately I've been twitching a lot due to a lack of sleep and messing up my diet a bit and I remembered you all and wanted to post.

For the newer guys who have never read the stuff I post, go look through my history, from my first post to my 9 month visit to Dr Reddel - viewtopic.php?f=4&t=20606

The symptoms I was feeling during the 9 months were consistent tightness, cramps, constant twitching especially in my feet (24/7 like worms wriggling beneath the skin) and my toes constantly pull down from the twitching.

Since I saw Dr Reddel (I have not had an EMG by the way), I was happy to leave all the *beep* behind. Since then, the tightness seemed to dissapear, I've only had one cramp (yesterday) in my big toe and my twitching has gone down.

The truth is, I don't really think the twitching changed much, my brain stopped using the broken algorithm of twitching = ALS. So twitching became background noise. It still happens, if I can be bothered getting a light to look at my feet they are going away like crazy all the time. I get the thumpers in different areas of my body. But it doesn't AFFECT me any more.

For those in the fear phase, I know what you're going through, I know there isn't much I can say to help, but I know stories like mine help provide a small relief from the endless cycle of being highly sensitive to your body from fear and anxiety which is a vicious circle.

I definitely twitch more than I used to before this started, I don't know why. But it doesn't affect me. Good luck all :)

Good read. I've never had emg and had twitches for 14 months now. I have wobbling periods like recently.

Great.
Your symptoms and timeframe are very similar to mine.
Keep well. Regards

Hi. Just adding to this as a little reminder for those to read and look through my history. I still get insane feet twitching. To be honest I hadn't really paid attention since the original post above. I just went for a run for the first time in months. Lying in bed and decided to pull out a light to look at the twitching and they're going absolutely insane as if there is a colony of worms under my skin lol.

Really fades when you can remove it from your mind.

Good luck all.

2 years in now. Feet are twitching away as usual and my big toe is pulling down. Much love from Sydney.

2 years and 4 months now. Same old, feet twitch 24/7. Every day I get random thumpers somewhere.

I still notice things that scare me for a day or two then disappear. A finger feels tight, or I tense and it holds position a little. My toe is pulling down execessively... as soon as I stop focusing on it, it goes away.

Lol, our bodies do random stuff every single day. Imagine if you were hyper-fixated on specific symptoms... you will find them EVERYTIME. Twitching means twitching, nothing else... good luck.
