New worrisome symptom (buzzing)

Postby eric77 on November 3rd, 2014, 9:43 am

I have had BFS now for 6 months.

Over the past two days I have noticed a light buzzing or vibration feeling (not a tremor) in one local spot on my left foot. The location where I am feeling this symptom is on the center top of my foot. It seems to buzz on a pretty consistent and constant interval which is every other second. It buzzes kinda quick then a second later it does it again, and so on. I only really notice it when I am not moving around (could be standing, sitting, or laying down). Its pretty light so its nothing that would keep me up at night but when I am awake its there.

I have read some posts where other have a similar feeling since I can only characterize it as a buzzing/vibrating/maybe blood rushing type feeling. However I wasn’t sure for those who have experienced this, if they are buzzing all the time non stop or if it is similar to mine which buzzes then no buzz then buzzes and then no buzz then buzzes, etc… On a buzz then wait a second interval.

Should I be worried about this? If others have had/have this how long does it last? Did it come and go? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

Eric,
sometimes buzzing is a symptom of B viatmin deficiency (especially in fingers and fascial zone). But it might be just a buzzing. as a person experiencing this among other symptomes I really think it does not woth a worry at all.

Hi Eric,
I experienced more or less the same thing (check my past posts). I had a buzzing/vibrating feeling on the sole of my right foot. It came and went (interval about 2 seconds). It wasn't a (visible) twitch. It got triggered by walking but I sometimes woke up experiencing it. I had it for a couple of weeks on a pretty regular basis. At one point I made it into the afternoon without feeling it. I got disappointed when it started in the evening. But several days or weeks later I made it through a whole day without it. Then a couple of days. It god milder and milder and disappeared almost completely (after about 6 weeks?). I still get it in a very light and mild version from time to time but don't really pay attention anymore.

Don let't it freak you out. I saw a neuro just for this symptom alone and I had an EMG after the symptom showed up. No-one worried about it, so why should I?

Regarding ALS - my conclusion was that it's a sensory issue, not a visible twitch - which points away from MND.

Hope this helps!
Take care

Thank you both for the reply and reassurance. Nothing like a new symptom to freak one out. Also thanks for pointing out the interval similarities which I wanted to make sure about.

I am having this symtom and I was panicking, I recovered completely in the past but this year I have a flare up of all those weird things. I had CT scan and emg in the past and everything was clear. Now I am having anxiety and depression. Everytime I feel a symtom my fight or flight response activates. Now is this vibrating buzzing pulsing feeling on my feet. It went for a couple of hours but is almost all the time. I hope my case is similar and nothing to worry about. Thanks for posting this!

I had something like this almost 8 months straight 24/7. Then it went away for months, but occasionally could feel it faintly. Now it is back, still not as strong as before or I'm better at ignoring it. Search "buzzing" and you will find it here! How many pages is the question? All the best!
