Slight Swaying when standing still

Postby eric77 on October 30th, 2014, 9:51 am

I have noticed recently (noticed - might have had it for a long time - not sure) that when standing upright and still my body starts swaying a little. Its a real sway not just a sensation. For example I will be standing and a second later my upper body may sway forward a very tiny bit so I sway it back (rebalance) to fully upright and then a second later or a bit longer I can find myself swaying a little in another direction. It doesn't always happen every second but its something I started noticing since I am in much more tune with my body now since BFS started. Again its a slight sway but also a little noticeable. If I look in the mirror when standing and it happens I can see it - so not just a sensation. I can stand on one leg just fine and so forth so I don't think its necessarily a weakness issue but I wanted to see if others have this. Is this a BFS thing or not even related to BFS. Should I be concerned? Thanks for your input.

Yup. Swayed like a drunken sailor, remember it well. And for me, it wasn't just a feeling, but if I would press my head back on a hard surface in just the right (or wrong) way, my whole head would move. Try doing a search on the word, "sway," and you will see that it isn't so uncommon around here, although I can totally understand why it feels odd. I always just attributed it to BFS. Hyper-excited nerves can cause odd sensations.

Hope this helps,
Sue

Thanks so Much SuziQ,

I did see one post from one person who clearly did reference physical swaying but many did not mention it other than a sensation from what I could see. I just thought I would write a new post that clearly mentions physical movement so there wouldn't be much ambiguity. Thanks again for taking the time to post. Also I will try what you mention about pushing your head back on a hard surface to see if I get a similar response and let me do a search on just sway and see what I get. thanks :D

I think I have that in my bad days.
I wonder if there is a link with myoclonic jerks (I also have myoclonic jerks in my bad days).
