frequency of fasciculations

Postby joycecaroll on September 30th, 2014, 12:52 pm

I have about 3 twitches a day in my tongue. I asked a neurologist if this could be the start of als, or if it's too infrequent. He just said als fasciculations could start more infrequent and slowly becomming more frequent. Does anyone know anything about this?

If your tongue isn't shriveling up and dying it's quite unlikely it is anything other than a benign twitch. Same as any other muscle twitch in your body.
BFS FAQ:
1. No, that's not bulbar
2. No, the location doesn't matter
3. Yes, we have all had that symptom
4. No, you're not the exception
5. No, that's not ominous
6. No, you don't need an EMG
7. Yes, you will be fine
