Panic attack

Postby enzoli99 on September 18th, 2014, 1:48 pm

Im having a bad panic attack and anxiety attack.
Im just going over the events in my head of the past month. It started with an unexplained knee and back pain ( left side) while sleeping....this led me to me missing work for 1 week and using a knee brace and cane for 3 weeks...Now, my left leg is much weaker than my right leg...is 2cm smaller..and when I tighten up the muscle, there are ripple-like faciculations...I know , im repeating myself but | cant help it, im so scared.
Neuro apt so far away.
Felling scared and weak.

could you ask for immedaite referral to a psychologist/psychiatrist for some anxiety treatment course?

you are definitely not dying from MND (back and leg pain rather suggest you have a lumbal issue) but you are dying from fear and panick. THIS COULD BE TREATED, and I believe it SHOULD BE TREATED RIGHT NOW.

that is what you can do waiting for neuro visit.

and in the meantime you can read a chorus of more or less exerienced BFSers (experienced in terms of BFS I mean) keeping tell you that 2 cm circumpherence difference is nothing, muscle twitches in case of any trauma (and pain suggests trauma more than anything else) are rather normal etc.

Yeah. Get help for the fear. There's talk about "psychosomatic illnesses" as though they are not harmful, but stress and worry can raise your blood pressure, cause adrenaline and cortisol to be dumped into your system, and harm your cardiovascular health. Thus a heart attack or stroke could be considered "psychosomatic" (an effect on the body due to the state of mind). Intense long-term fear is not good for your health.

Two new symptoms have emerged....I will not Google them. I feel like I have a " charley -horse" in my left leg and I keep clearing my throat.
Like I said, I will not Google how these symptoms are related to ***.
Trying to stay strong.

cramps are very common in BFS and throat clearing is most probably becasue you got GERD due to hyperexcited vagal nerve. Both are relatively harmless.
