hahaha, the Captain :)))

as a cap, Xina, I do not remember if you had any Xray or MRI of your spine? Because pains in the leg definitely in 99 % are casued by nerve compression or verterbarl spondilosis...

It is also expected that first massage did provided youo with some more circulation and that lead to relief of your symptomes but after that yo may have start some reaction, including a bit of inflammation and sore muscles and your nerves and blood vessels might be compressed again. I would advice to contimnue massage course (which is minimum a 10 procedures I think or so) and just see what would be going with you.

abd nope it is not stroke and I do not hink it is cardio.

I am rather sceptical about homeopathy but at least it has a placebo effect, quite powerful, so just be patient and let your body do the job.

Hi Captain, the MRI was clear. Nothing found. Only slight bulges but they say did not compress the nerves. They says "bad posture/compensation" so ....basically no real answer. The physio massages and treatment I had helped for a good while. I have the hardened muscle, but not as bad, and it gets more hard/painful on some days and other days doesn't bother me as much.

Thank you about your thoughts on the cardio. I just don't know why these things happening are mostly on right side and if that means anything. Wondering really about these new pains under my feet in the center. I will try to get more massages, but I am so scared those pains, and this thigh issue, are related to cramping in the bad way.

Hi, I'm new here, but have been lurking a while and finding some relief using the search function for my strange myriad of symptoms!

I have 2 points.

1. You do not have the condition you have been worried about, you have a normal Emg and you have had your symptoms a long time. As an outsider this is clear, but i completely understand that is not the way it feels in your shoes!

2. I also have a lot of pains and cramps, and whilst personally I'm early into this and not sure, it seems that a lot of people with BFS have similar. I think it's possible that all your pains are related to the BFS. Please excuse me if I'm speaking out of turn, but perhaps it would be good to give youself a break form investigations and hospitals and find ways of addressing the pain and the anxiety rather than seeking out another cause?

I feel your distress. This pain, aching and twictching is horrible and a constant reminder to our anxieties.

Hi Crampydr,

Thank you for your response. I go through all the phases and cycles, and again and again. I feel I am stuck in a rotary, with all these paths that lead to different fears and one path that leads to NO A**, and I take short trips down each one (including the NO A**) but I keep coming back to the rotary and just continue to circle around. I've learned it's all symptom dependant.

I am trying to feel better, that's all I do now-a-days!

Right now I am doing what I can for this gastritis caused from when I took too many pain killers for my leg problem when it was really bad. This is supposedly the reason I have right chest pain. I am keeping a log of my symptoms to see how I feel every other day, to keep track and remember if I've felt better at some point. If I do not have any real change in chest pain after taking these 3 medicines for gastritis, then I will have to go back to my primary care doctor. Outside of being an anxious person, I think that is what any 'normal' person would do. She even said for me to come back.

For the other pains, I am also trying massages, baths with bath salts, creams, B vitamins, magnesium, calcium....instead of pain medicine that can further upset the gastritis. Nothing has truly helped. I would have a short time of relief, but everything comes back.

For the anxiety: massages, baths, anxiety medicine, sauna, starting to regularly work out at my gym again (as of 2 weeks now), but trying to keep it in balance so I don't aggravate any pains. It is a real challenge with my left thigh and my right hand/thenar. It still hurts, and hurts really bad if I put any pressure against it. As far as a therapist, I have tried 2 now and neither have helped me. One just had me fill out forms that he never reviewed with me, and the other could only see me a couple times, where I had to start all over again. Unfortunately in Germany there is approx 3 month waiting list for a new therapist. AND from what I learned, you can't just start and stop and start over again somewhere else. There are limits. I have found it frustrating and a waste of time. That really saddens me, because if I feel this way, I am sure many more people feel this way and are actually mentally suffering, but they have to chase to get any real true help for it and they don't have the mental strength for that. For my mental state, I rely on expressing myself and my feelings on here or elsewhere, going back to my report of a clean EMG and reading it again, reminding myself of no weakness - these things do help me take a trip up the NO A** path, but I can't stay on there and it's probably because I have these weird, unexplained, scary things going on in my body.

I don't know why these symptoms are there exactly, but as you can see, I am doing everything I can to feel better though. I only try to feel better, all over. Good news as I mentioned before, is that my twitching has been waaaaay down. Hoping it will fade away, but am not expecting it to.

Dear Xina and all,

Have been away awhile and just read this. This week my left hand is weaker and I have frequent thenar twitching and tremor. It drives me insane. This is my most symptomatic limb in the 9 months I've been at this, but the weakness, lack of dexterity in fourth and pinky finger is new. My second most symptomatic limb is my left leg/foot. It is driving me mad. However, to answer a couple questions...can nerve conduction test pick up anything? In the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" this is the test that tipped off his doctor, so it seems YES is the answer - it is a worthwhile test. It would not be clean. Also, my neuro who is a highly credentialed ALS specialist examined my left hand and wrist in January from many angles as I flexed etc. and he said "there is no atrophy there, this is no ALS." I see it as smaller and getting smaller. Of course, I wonder if it has been too long since my visit and should I go again. However, I have a pact with my therapist, no running to the doctor to seek reassurance. It has helped in some odd way. If it weren't for this I am positive I would have RUN into my neuro at least four times since January. This is bizarre crap. I am putting everything down to an overactive nervous system which is bathed in a flood of adrenaline, possibly causing swelling or inflammation which compresses nerves. All the list of my crazy symptoms seems to wax and wane. Once this hand weakness passes I should be relieved. The only other thing besides the tiny help my therapist gives is the passage of time and the track record of these symptoms coming/going/changing.

All the best,
Leanne

Hi xina,

It sounds like you have tried so many things, I will try some of them myself!
Here in the uk there is also a long wait to see a therapist. I have just started seeing one last week but I am worried that as most the time I think I have a horrible illness rather than health anxiety that I will find it hard to engage!
I really hope you have some improvement in your symptoms soon and I'm pleased that the twitching is reducing.

Dear both,

I could share the same story with you both. Apart from the fact that my neuro found the antibodies against my nerve system (being sure, no other neuro would have examined though). The MND expert told me this finding is really unspecific (I have found a table where those antibodies are mentioned in context with MND, and Guillan Barré, so I was scared as hell). My symptoms also wax and wane, (and cortisone made it worse - but as a matter of fact, I react paradoxely on most of meds anyway. I am used to that odd thing). Every morning I am thinking: what comes today? Which odd symptom is chasing me today? I have tried Diclo 50 against the pains, because it was a special day. And bang! It helped so much against the pain (which is not possible with nerve pain normally, because it is against Rheumatism. But my body is paradoxe). It is so weird and I always try to collect those information to help with dx...But I am getting more and more confused.
I see Atrophy where my neuro doesn't see. He sees atrophy where I definitely don't have or see. Nothing is fitting together and I am falling apart somehow...

Dear Leanne, it is so tough, reading "Tuesday with Morris". Someone gave it to me with the comment, she feels that this is the right book for me and before I turned the page with diagnosis, I knew about this. I felt it. And as I read it..it was a nasty sign to me. I could not stand to read further...Maybe I do one day far away...

Xina, I know so good how you feel. 2 days ago, I was not able to walk any longer..I went to Uniklinik Duesseldorf. And I thought again...ok. That's it. Now it is there...And today, I had a 4 km nordic walk again...It is so crazy...I hope that one day, this strange cycle will come to an end. A good one..And that is what I wish for us all...
