emg test

Postby Roman on March 21st, 2014, 12:11 pm

I was wondering if anyone could explain the emg. I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel and had an emg. The Dr stuck the needle in my thumb muscle, along with multiple sticks in my body which came back normal. I have been noticing that my left wrist has been getting smaller along with my hand muscles. I just got the emg a month ago. My question is if I was muscle wasting due to als wouldn't the emg would have picked it up or could it be the carpel tunnel. Also pains in that hand and forearm as well. Any reply would be soooo appreciated

Any pinched nerve going into the hand can cause atrophy. If you had a normal EMG it isn't ***.
