tradicional chinese medicine in BFS

Postby MCJ74 on December 18th, 2013, 7:00 am

HI , I am 39 years old and I am a doctor here in Brazil . I `m specialist in acupuncture and pediatrics. I have BSF two years ago . Initially fasciculations started in private parts , I was scared , I never heard about this before. I searched for gynecologists but they didn`t Know also ... About six months later after a very stressful trip, with plenty of physical activity fasciculations greatly increased and spread in the all my body . I was terrified , immediately thought of ALS . I cry a lot . My colleagues and relatives told me it was just anxiety but I didn`t believe. I look for a neurologist who made the diagnosis of BSF . He asked me for an EMG but I decided not to do this. He told me there was no treatment available , I tried to take tonic water with quinino. I tried several things , taking off the caffeine, take magnesium, take vitamins , to do less exercise , homeopathy and acupuncture .Symptoms still remained . I started researching the subject in traditional Chinese medicine and there is a pattern of deficiency of blood in the liver that produces the following symptoms : little or no menstruation, hair and broken nails , sleep with many dreams , pale tongue and tremors and fasciculations ( internal wind .)
So I started myself a treatment with acupuncture and improved my diet with foods that nourish the blood as meat , beets , nuts, blackberries , etc. . Currently I believe that symptoms improved about 80 % . I'm still afraid , oddly enough , I hate when people tell me it's just stress but I believe we 'll get rid of this problem. I count on your collaboration and I am available if you need .

Welcome to the board! I developed BFS in 2010 and found similar relief from acupuncture and diet modifications. You might want to research 'leaky gut syndrome' because that is what I ended up having. I believe my stressful lifestyle that helped lead to its development but there was much more to it than that. Your response to diet modification could indicate a similar condition for you. The gut, immune system, and the nervous system are incredibly connected. Good luck.

Yes I believe there is connection with the gut because I also have intestinal symptoms.

Look into an anti-candida diet and I can recommend some supplements. InterFase Plus is great at breaking down the biofilm that protects the candida colonies. Lauicidin is a good maintenance supplement to keep the candida at bay once you get it under control.

Among other things, my acupuncturist suggested I start eating meat too. I used to be a vegetarian. I also cut out some things, and made other lifestyle changes. It helped me about 90% as well.

Welcome to the board and thanks for the info!
