A 'Thank You' to BFSBurger

Postby andrewbfs on March 14th, 2013, 7:57 pm

Not directly related to BFS, but I just wanted to express gratitude to BFSBurger for talking up the practice of juicing. His discussions on the subject prodded me to take the plunge and buy an Omega J8005 -- it arrived yesterday and I juiced for the first time in my life today! Some broccoli, a green pepper, a beet, and some kale (all organic), to which I added some organic acai juice, and Amazing Grass powder. Didn't taste bad at all, and cleanup was indeed a breeze (probably the biggest conern I had going in).

I have never had a very good diet. Luckily, I'm blessed with decent genes in the sense that my cholesterol has always been fairly low, especially for someone who eats the way I do. And I work out regularly, so my BMI is always right around 25, tops.

But I've always wanted to improve my diet. It's become more important to me for various reasons -- approaching the big five-oh in age...having young kids that I want to watch grow up and become parents...becoming more aware in recent years of the fragility of health, due to my BFS, anxiety and other health "scares". I've been wanting to add more veggies to my diet for YEARS (if not decades), but it was 'Burger's accounts of his juicing experiences that provided the tipping point, where I finally decided to act on that desire.

Whether it helps with my various twitches, jerks, and other oddities, I don't know or care. I'm doing it for the general health benefits, and I'm excited about it.

Thanks very much, 'Burger!!!!

I use the same juicer thx to burger, it is super east to clean. I'm trying to juice as much as I can but usually I do it 4 times a week. I don't see any benefits in terms of twitching. Still, I feel good doing this and it seems like I I helps me to stay healthy. I didn't get I flue shot and was worried about getting a flue but so far so good!
