Rate your BFS!

Postby bobajojo on November 7th, 2012, 6:29 pm

As we all know, there are many different variants when it comes to BFS. So, I've come up with a rating system for you to rate your BFS. Here's how it works:

FIRST, pick a letter:
A. I'm all twitching
B. I twitch and I have sensory (sensory issues just as bothersome as twitching more than one day a week)
C. I twitch and cramp (cramping more than one day a week)
D. All of the above

SECOND, pick a number:
1. My symptoms are localized to one limb
2. My symptoms are in my legs only
3. My symptoms are above my waist only
4. My symptoms are all over my body but no tongue twitching
5. My symptoms are all over my body AND my tongue twitches

LASTLY, as you reply, feel free to make a comment or two about areas that plague you more than others. i.e. what bothers you the most?

So, I'm an A5 and my tongue is my nemesis. It twitches everyday and I can see clear fascics on both sides frequently. Also, my twitching has progressed over 18 months. Just gets worse and worse. I twitch every minute of every day. How bout you? This is just for fun. I'll compile all the ratings and break it down for us... just out of curiosity.

B4

[if you aren't counting the allusive and controversial "pre-cramp" sensations as true cramps.]
A very proud fasciculator since 8/14/2011. :)

This is good Matt!

I, like Greg, am a B4..pre-cramp and everything.

My main issues are a lot of pain and stiffness at the moment. My right shoulder down to my fingers are causing me a ton of problems lately. In addition to my knees feeling like those of an Octogenarian. :?

3. Yes, we have all had that symptom
4. No, you're not the exception
5. No, that's not ominous
6. No, you don't need an EMG
7. Yes, you will be fine

A5, but not to the extent that Matt does. Not even close. Just a few poppers a day in the tongue, but I twitch everywhere else. I don't think there's a single muscle on me that hasn't twitched.
Been on the BFS journey since 6/26/12...

Twitch way do I go from here?

BFS does get better with time. Almost two years in and able to do almost everything I could do before I had this condition. Still twitching away of course...

Not sure how helpful it is to give ourselves yet another label...

LOL, how many labels do you have?

Yeah, this is just for kicks. If you don't think its helpful, just don't reply.

I'm C4 though almost every muscle I have, including my tongue has twitched at one time or the other. Cramping has been bad the last couple of days, but wax and wane.

take care,

B4 for me too (although the last few weeks I experience some odd sensations in my tongue and it feels like it is twitching sometimes, so maybe it is B5 for me)

A5, yet the tongue is pretty rare lately. I thought there were more tongue twitchers...so far the most is B4.

Docen,
Yeah, I'm surprised how many B4's we have too, but hopefully we get a lot more replies. So awesome to hear that your tongue has calmed down! Mine goes every day and I'm really hoping there comes a day when it dissappears. That gives me some hope that maybe it will!

I'm A5/C5 (on bad weeks). My constant multiple-times-per-second tongue-twitch that I posted a video of seems to have gone quiet for a week now.

I'm a D4/D5. Not a ton of tongue twitches but when they happen they are more like what a snake does - a darting type move. Where are all the other crampers?? I'm the only D so far. :( My cramping has been worse this week than normal which has me a bit down.
