Just checking in from Kit

Postby kit on July 28th, 2010, 11:22 am

I hope that this post finds the old-timers doing well and the newbies not in a total and complete panic:) I just wanted to check in...things are going reasonably well although I must admit that I have been having some jaw/tongue and speech things happening lately..not so much twitching although truthfully THAT has become so much background noise that I don't really notice. I had a virus...funky unspecified virus and I do believe it threw me for a bit of a loop. So...I am endeavoring to just get on with it and move past this and I started to think about all of you and wanted to say hello. Now here is the thing.. I do not post so much anymore but I do check my messages. I invite any or all of you to PM me anytime should you have any questions or concerns or just need some reassurances. It is the least I can do for all of the support I received here when I was at my worst. Please be well!
Smooches,
Kit

Hello Kit - always lovely to hear from you. As you will see, I have continued to contribute to the site, much as you did for a while, in order to help newbies come to terms with their condition. Sorry to hear you've been a bit under the weather recently - no doubt it will be nothing to worry about. Glad to hear that your twitching isn't so bad these days. I think mine might be somewhat reduced too of late but I still have some pretty full on days with twitching and muscle pain etc, and the calves never let up for more than a few secs, but I have just learned how to filter this out so that I am blissfully unaware that it is happening.
I hope all is well with your practice and your family. All is well here down in NZ.
Regards
So,pm

Also just dropping by to say I am still alive. I have a good twitcher in the left forearm now, so I thought: O yes, BFS. Let check the board once.
I don't think the twitching has decreased substantially the last four years but I stopped paying too much attention to them. Ther are still some moments, when it is violent and widespread... But these are short :-). I don't have much facial/tongue twitching anymore.
Wish you all the best !
And for the newbees, like the other docters Kit and Simon_W, I really, really, really explored all possible causes and after 2 years I gave up. Some people lose a leg and they learn to live as a person with one leg. We are just persons that twicth a lot that have to live with it.

Good to hear from you Ron. Glad that you are keeping well. I hope you are enjoying working fewer hours than you used to and that you have recovered from the World Cup final result!

Hi Kit,
I'm glad you're still checking in.
I haven't been on here for a while - I suppose that's a good thing. I've suffered the deaths of 7 close famiy member's over the last year - including my beloved dad. Things have been tough, plus a couple of cancer scares for me. Been twitching but I try not to worry too much.... ha!
Hope all my old friends are doing well.
