Tongue Twitchers: Sensory or Motor or Both

Postby jro on May 5th, 2010, 9:02 am

Do any of you tongue twitchers wonder if what you feel/experience is involving the sensory or motor nerves or both. I have never seen my tongue twitch (granted I don't look both because I do not want to and because I am usually not near a mirror when it happens). When I get the tongue sensation it sometimes feels like a quick electrical shock or a tingly, burning sensation. Other times it has a shallow pulsing sensation to it which makes me think it is a muscle movement. I have both sensory and motor nerve issues over the rest of my body so I could very well have both going on with the tongue. Any thoughts?
