The Book: Stop Worrying About Your Health!

After somone metioned this book I purchased it from Amazon and started reading it last night. Even after making it through just the intro I was amazed by what I was reading. It describes so many of the things we are doing to ourselves and it has concrete steps to help control health anxiety. I too believe that there is a real biological problem going on with BFS and that the anxiety aspect works its way in differently for all of us, but this book is amazing and I urge everyone to read it. The important thing to remember is that we may never stop having symptoms, but if our attitude and anxiety is 50-80 percent of the problem then controlling it is real improvement. I said to myself what is worse the twithcing or the obsession and fear! It is the obsession and fear.

Thanks for the info!

I just posted on the "I'm back" message about 2 other books to check out. They are really beneficial to any one who suffers from anxiety. Specifically Health Obsessions! They are "Hope and Help for your Nerves" and "Peace from Nervous Suffering" By Claire Weekes.

Dave,
So glad to see the book has helped you. I am the one who posted about the book. I found it has helped alot. I am feeling great, no worries, and am living my life. I am not visiting this site anymore to research what is wrong with me, just come back every now and then to support others and let them know it will get better. It is amazing how the mind can control your body. All my best!!

I also bought the book. It serves two purposes for me. First, it helps me understand health issues and second it helps put me to sleep at night. I was having insomnia for a while but between the sleep specialist that I'm seeing and reading this book, I'm recovering slowly but surely!
