Vibration

Postby Slavin Balen on August 20th, 2004, 6:32 am

I'm twitching since March this year. Started in right eyelid and spread all over my body. Unfortunately, twitches are still here and eyelid also.
Last few days I have fasciculations on my back and right shoulder and sense of some kind of mild vaibration but not visible twitching in right arm (biceps). Stiffnes in right hand also. Maybe a little bit of weakness. I had diagnosed changes in C5-C6 spinal area.
Could it be connected with my problem mentioned above?
I have done my third EMG in July since March this year and everything was clear except C5-C6 (slight changes, mild bulging).
Does anybody know is it possible that good EMG goes wrong (ALS!) in 3-4 weeks?
I'm very upset and terrified although several doctors are telling me there is no reason for that.
Somehow I am not sure that they are reallly convinced in BFS.
Actually I don't have BFS diagnosis because here in Croatia neuros don't use that term in an American sort of way.
They diagnosed me anxiety...
Sincerely
Slavin

Third EMG? What was the result (what does slight changes mean)?

But to answer your question. . .

for their to be weakness the ALS process has to start a while back. . By the time you have weakness/fascilations from ALS there should be definite changes on an EMG. So if your EMG was clean. . .then it is doubtfull that it went from clean to weak in 3-4 weeks

An emg that is not clean does NOT mean als. There are many many things that cause changes on an emg. If your Dr says not to worry then you shouldn't because w/als the emg looks very specific and your Dr. would recognize it immediately.

arm twitching

Postby Slavin Balen on August 23rd, 2004, 7:55 am

Thanx a lot! I'm sitting in my office and thinking about life and death etc. etc.
Deep inside my right forearm I feel twitches and it lasts 2 weeks without a break. Feel like some kind of buzzing or vibrations in 500-600 BPM (frequency). Twitches are around my right shoulder and on back also. I'm terrified.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with one of my neuro doctors. She is well-known in Croatia, even in Europe but she is specialised in MS.
She told me in April that I haven't ALS and strongly suggested to take a vacation and go to swim.
You know: Adriatic coast; beautiful islands... I can't 'cause I'm in charge as a musical director (editor) on radio station.
She is convinced in my anxiety.
I'll show you new (clean) EMG which I've done on my own by PP last month.
Sincerely
Slavin

lyme disease

Postby eric on August 26th, 2004, 7:35 am

lyme disease in europe is wide spread and attacks the nervous system and inflames the nerves. doctors from all over the world are going to the lyme specialist in ny to learn how to diagnose and treat this disease. this is mostly an autoimmune disease where your body is trying to attack an invader that is hiding in the very cell that it killed. the immune system cant see it and attack your body, most often without fever. i have lyme that is from europe and it caused a host of symptoms including bfs. my muscles were attacked by the immune system and as they were attacked the germ got in the path of nerves, it caused all that is mentioned on this forum. you must remeber that this is an infection of the brain and very close to syphilis. infact there in the same family.
