Tongue Biting

Postby JStanz on April 5th, 2013, 10:52 am

Hello Everyone,

It seems like tongue biting is common amoung folks with health aniexties. I have been biting the side of my tonue while talking for a weeks now (seems to get worse when I think about it). Does anyone know if this is a sign of bulbar als? I have no speech or swallowing issues that I know of.

On a good note, twitching has gone away for 2 months now :)

Tongue biting isn't just common for anxious people, it is common for everyone. And then you get into a vicious cycle where your tongue is swollen and bigger so you bite it more, and it just repeats. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just eat and talk slower for a while and give your tongue a chance to recover.

5. No, that's not ominous
6. No, you don't need an EMG
7. Yes, you will be fine
