Flaoter, Thats because you were in the middle of the state in columbus
of coarse there gonna be nutty about it how about trying the Northwest
corner where its not so bad. huh. huh? You get your choice of Ohio or
Michigan, and Indiana how about that? What do you like about Portland?
The Pacific? Well we have the Maumee River to kick back by here.
      now that was funny. Watch what you
ask god for you might end up somewhere you'd wished you wouldn't
have  still suffering with BFS now that would suck... :x
The old Maumee would be looking pretty darn good to you then and those
buckeyes to.
Its OK Floater, I understand you dont like Ohio  I'll just twitch all
alone by myself here    Hope you enjoy those pal twitchers you have in your state. :P I'll just hang out by myself

Ginlyn.. the doctor never called me with the results.. i guess i should call.. but no news is good news,, i have learned in the blood testing world.. but i should call :)

dianna- the only thing i like about the northwest corner of ohio is cedar point. i also hate indiana .. i lived in indianapolis and it sucked worse than ohio. i hate the midwest. the midwest voted for bush,,, especially ohio..if you lived on the west coast you would understand. what i like about portland?? the music scene, the festivals, camping, hiking, foooood, the freaky people, the mountains, and on and on.. the only bad thing about portland is that it rains during the fall and winter and spring.. but its much more warmer than ohio michigan.. ect.. cold weather is not worth living in

OMG I LOVE Cedar Point! My husband surprised me when we were still dating...for my 30th birthday he dragged me off on a road trip to Cedar Point. He figured if he could get me laughing and screaming on all of those great roller coasters I wouldn't be so bummed about turning 30.

It was symbolic...just because you are over the hill doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride down.

I am insane for roller coaster and thrill rides of other kinds. Has anyone ever seen the slingshot? I've done that too. My husband broke his rib on it. We also jumped out of a plane, tandem style. It was awesome.

Sorry, I didn't mean to change the direction of the Ohio thread, but Cedar Point is one thing that I do love about Ohio---that and the Longaberger basket factory (which I have yet to visit...)

Glad you all like cedar point I do to but after going there all the time
you kind of get burnt out on it. I love Florida. I could see myself there
for good though, I dont like the hurricanes. Floater, Sorry about the Bush
thing I dont think the people here voted for him as much as they say. I
think its the same story as Florida had the First time he got elected in fact
it was funny how he was elected and they didnt even have the votes counted yet go figure that was the last time in Ohio. He is a CHEATER.
Never been to Portland but maybe in the future We might check it out
infact never even been to that side of the country my husband has but not me.
Suzi, what is the slingshot? I have lived in Ohio all my life and never
even heard of the basket factory  thats new news to me.
I didnt even realize 30 was over the hill  that was four years
ago OMG I am on my way down now? When you get to the bottom your done? OMG I have to go to the bathroom check on me later.

Dianna,
Here is a link to an article and a video of the slingshot ride. (For some reason, the video shows it going sideways, but it goes straight up in the air and plummets down...)

http://www.rgj.com/news/stories/html/20 ... /21760.php

If you read the article, my husband would be the one screaming his a$$ off the entire time, I was the silent, stoic one. Hubby screamed so loudly that people were laughing at him when we got off...who could blame him, since he broke his rib on there.

The basket factory is in Dresden. Is that anywhere near you?

Oh-and no, 30 isn't over the hill...but it felt that way to me at the time. Now, I've settled into my age and I'm much more content than I was then.

Don't worry, you will too. I'm sure you are fabulous.

OMG Suzi no wonder he screamed, I would have to. I would probably done a little more than that like crapped my pants threw up ect. The poor guy prabably didnt even realize his rib was broke until after trying to survive the ride I'd bet he dont want to do that anymore.
I have never heard of Dresden. No thats not anywhere by me I dont think.
I am in between Ft.Wayne, Indiana and Toledo, Ohio actually closer to
FT.Wayne, Indiana then Toledo.

Floater,

You are right - no news is good news. Sounds like everything is okay- which I'm glad about!!!!

Now, I voted for Bush and I live in CA! Was a dem my entire life until 2000.

I hate to disappoint you, but know that I still think you are one of the best!!!!

Ginny

PS - Portland is a cool city. I used to have many a lay-over there when I worked for the airlines. I'm with you on warm weather, too. As a former Pennsylvanian, I don't miss the winters.
