Harrassing people on the internet is illegal.

First, apologies to board admin staff or any newbies that might stumble upon this. Unfortunately, there are some on this site that have shamefully turned away from the site's purpose and are now privately harrassing other members with impunity.

Let me be blunt: What you are doing is illegal and you are not anonymous.

If you really think what you're doing is okay, I refer you to the following website, which details cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and cyber harrassment laws: http://www.ncsl.org/issues-research/telecom/cyberstalking-cyberharassment-and-cyberbullying-l.aspx

From the article:
All 50 states have laws that explicitly address electronic forms of stalking, harassment or cyberbullying.

For those of you in the U.K.: http://www.fkbko.co.uk/root/Parents/cyberstalking.htm
Legal protection against stalking is provided in the UK by the Protection Against Harassment Act (1997) and covers all forms of communication including electronic. This makes it illegal to 'pursue a course of conduct which amounts to harassment of another and which the defendant knows or ought to know amounts to harassment of another'. In addition this also makes it illegal to put another in fear.

And elsewhere:
International law emphasizes a supranational concept related to cybercrime. This is the Convention on Cybercrime, signed by the Council of Europe in Budapest on November 23, 2001

This does not even begin to cover possible civil penalties.

As common decency has seemingly escaped some of you here, maybe you'll listen to this: IF THIS ACTIVITY DOES NOT CEASE IMMEDIATELY, YOU CAN AND WILL BE HELD TO ACCOUNT. YOU ARE LIABLE FOR WHAT YOU DO ON THE INTERNET AND TO OTHER PEOPLE.
