Hi all,
I just found out that I am not the only one on these boards who has geographic tongue. Who else is out there? I would love to meet you. I haven't met anyone with this, it's great to know I am not alone, but I am sorry for any who have to deal with this on top of all our twitching and sesory crap....

I know I seem to have everything but I have it. It is said that it doesn't hurt, but my red sores hurt very bad :-( It comes and goes and I can not cure it. I thought it is related to my sebrrhoreic dermatitis but it doesn't happen at the same time. I have it just like on pictures but my sores hurt me quite bad when they happen at the tip or back. It resolves in few days.

I totally do. I hate it. But, it's really common with the entire population.

PS: I think you're born with it, if you google it. It's nothing to worry about, except it's unsightly when you have to say "Ahhh" and stick your tongue out.

me too, german too. I read it is-----hahaha----hyperexcitability of nerves that regulate the exfoliation of the tongue. How I love that hyperexcitability word...

Hi all. Yes, i was born with it. It would usually flare up and go away etc...but since preggo and now nursing, it has been bad for months now. Mine hurts too and sugar and wheat along with spicey and citric give me bad flare ups. It has been sugar and wheat that are the new triggers for me. Sugar really bad. Vitamins help tremendously but I haven't been taking my vitamins since the move and have been having way too much sugar since the holidays.

Yes I have geographic tongue. Noticed it as a teenager. Mine really does not bother me unless I eat ALOT of high acidic foods.
