I want to touch my toes

I am a 40 year old 6'6 year old man.

I am a calf twitcher. Oh I got the odd twitches in my right forearm. They come and go. Actually I think these are pretty cool.

Anyway I also have ankle pain in my left ankle. I figure it is related to a herniated disk. But the latest ankle doc told me it was related to having tight calf muscles.

So I give. I will try. My goal is to be able to touch my toes with my finger tips.

I prop my feet up on pillows while watching tv. I am trying to stretch out my calf muscles like a rubber band.

Hey Richard
You are funny - propping your feet while watching TV is not how to condition your body to stretch! I hope that wasn't your doctor's idea!
try this!

Warm up a little before stretching. If you want to protect your hamstrings, keep your thigh muscles in front (quads) tight initially by lifting your kneecaps while stretching. Go slowly, don't push or bounce, use good breathing technique, repeat at least 3x week & you should get there in a few weeks or sooner! Maybe instead of a barbell you could use a few TV guides. :)

You can do it! I am 55 and can get my palms on the ground except for on really bad bcfs days.
