Domain names can auto-renew. He may not have initiated that.

I run health sites for a living and have a dedicated server at Rackspace.com.

A new forum can very easily be set up and running within 24 hours if anyone wants to do it. I would be happy to host it.

Just let me know.

I could also put a significant amount of time and effort into writing articles and content which would expand the site into something more akin to an actual "health website" (versus just a forum). This would draw significantly more people with this condition, as Google would rank it higher, and more people would find it.

This is something I think we should do even if John returns.

If anyone has access to the Admin of this forum you can modify the registration setting to "email verification" rather than "administrator approval", and new members will be able to join and participate.

Dear BFS Team,

I have reached out to JohnV and spoke to him and he told me that he would help restore the site and instate the new memebers. It appears that this hasn't happened unfortunately.

I suggest that other members give him a call and let them know that they too would like to see the site continue and that this great base of knowledge doesn't go to waste.

His phone number is 215.765.4600. When the receptionist answers, just say you would like to speak to John Voorhis in the Morristown, PA office and she will connect you. Maybe with some extra interest from other members it will ensure some action to take place.

Regards,
Greg

He could at least add you as an extra admin so you could accept the new members.
Otherwise there is a need to create a new forum and transfer there all the data and all the active members.

Be sure to reference his name and location.

We have to keep the archives here somehow even if we move to a new forum. There is simply no other resource available like it on the internet.

Since nothing seems to be happening, maybe we could transfer to this forum: http://www.bfsrecovery.com/forum/. Other suggestions?

Either everyone is on massive doses of Xanax or this forum is slowly dying out. I don't see nearly as many posts as I used to and the ones posting are usually the same 5-10 people. Kind of sad that this great resource is fading. Wish there was some way to transfer all the content to a new forum with gary as the owner.

The saddest part is that there are new twitchers out there probably wanting to post, reach out, need support and comfort, contribute their experiences, and they can't. :(

If you are reading this new BFSers, hang in there, we're trying!
