Suggesions to improve the board

Hi,

I would love to see a few improvements on the board:

1) Surveys.
The possibility to make a survey with checkboxes

2) Chat-room
Sometimes the urge to talk to someone with the same concerns can be overwhelming. A chat-room would be great!

Regards,
Peter

I agree totally, I think 'Mommy london' has the same idea. You would need to approach one of the co-ordinators of this site. But sometime threads do become 'chats' so a chat room would serve a useful purpose. Suveys... maybe... if they served a useful purpose for the benefit of all..collecting info for the sake of interest really serves very little but to satisfy idle curiosity.
cheers
Rodger

Yes, Yes, Yes, we so need a chat room on this site. It would be so helpful for people when they really need some support or reassurance quickly, or for newbies so they could talk to people with this and save them from weeks or months of worry and from going over to the ALS site.

Mommylondon has a chatroom and no one ever visits it anymore. Pm her for the link and get it going again. I miss it too, she said she would love to see more people visit it.

I would add stickys for all popular diseases that people think they have with "why you don't have X" in the title. I'm sure many of us went through fears of different afflictions and can share how they managed to get past them in these posts, and it would give peace of mind to people that come to the board worrying from other stuff than ALS. In my case was MS, then cancer, then para neoplastic then connective tissue disease. I can contribute to make these articles.

Chat room is JohnV territory, sticky posts is mine. If you come up with a post that you would like to be sticky, post it and i will read it and go from there. The one thing I guard against is getting to many sticky posts at the top of every section, because I feel at that point they can become ineffective.

Look forward to reading more about this.

Take care,
Gary

I agree a chat room would be nice, but one could even take it one step further. Any online gamers out there familiar with programs like ventrilo or teamspeak? These are low cost or free programs that allow real chat rooms (talking) by using headsets. Probably unnecessarry but just a thought.
