I really don't know. I get a second of tiny sharp feeling in my throat every once in a while. A little more often now. Could anyone try to explain? Thanks.

Ususally it is hard to explain, but if you feel a sudden sharp pain in the throat and subsequently one of your eyes is watering, this is a sign you breath too deep, do not have proper nasal breathing due to swelling in the nose mucosa and have to breath using mouth rather than nose, and cold air gets onto your vocal cords. Or the air is too dry. Those pains are strong and may even alter your voice for a while.
I had them increased when I had my vocal lessons and my teacher had explained tha this is a result of air getting on vocal crods causing refelctive muscular spasms in the throat, usually unilateral. Hope this will give you some ida about your pains.

if it happens at home or in the office, it is worth to check air humidity or just buy a humidifier. It is a nide device, bubbling and making a "cold steam" or finely dispered water.
