Mouth feels dry but also constantly swallowing

My mouth has felt very dry lately then all of a sudden one day I felt like I had to swallow constantly. That stopped but then came back full force. Can anyone relate to the dry mouth but constant need to swallow feeling? How can my mouth be dry yet I have too much saliva? I can't even explain it.

I have it too. I salivate more, I am pretty sure. Maybe I just notice it. It is a tricky thing, because as soon as you think about it, you do it. Possibly hyperfocused. Occasionally I'm dry. I'm trying to figure it out. My theory on salivating is irritated, hyperactive nerves (if, in fact it is actually happening, which it seems to be). I don't seem to have trouble swallowing, which is the best part. The dry part? Hmmm. I'm thinking today that since it is cold now here, much more so today and past few weeks (I am in Minnesota) that the heat/furnace are drying the air. Another possibility is that it is a cycle -- too wet, too dry -- a compensatory kind of thing. I also seem to have a little chest cold, so maybe I'm breathing through my mouth. I don't really know -- just my own theories.

My toungebproblems started like this . It turned out to be A dry burning feeling in the mouth. Makes me feel that speaking are unconfortable . it is okay in The mornings and get worse during The Day and worst When i am in my bed at evenings. When i eat The feeling almost disappears , so now i " like " to,talk with food in my mouth. I Read about burning mouth that this type is more likely to come from nerves and that scares me , i Think All my symptomes leading to A nerve illness. :(

Mine gets worse through the day too, but it goes from dry to too wet. Also if I'm eating or drinking it doesn't bother me. Mine isn't a burning feeling tho. The GP today just said ask the neuro next week.

It's almost as if my salivary glands are overcompensating for the dryness?!

Every tongue is so much different. I seem to have bumps on the sides of my tongues, lots of mind games my friend. Ive been a wreck myself the past 3-4 days, have a appointment today with my GP, hoping we can come up with a plan to control this anxiety
