Foot and Leg Pain/ perceived weakness

Hi again all,

Since I am a new twitcher [almost at 2 months] I am still trying to come to terms with the variety of symptoms I am experiencing.

I know cramping can be a symptom of BFS, and I've had a few since this started [mostly after exercise in the leg which twitches most] and sometimes in the morning stretching.

For me the perplexing thing is for 2 solid weeks, I've had a sore foot. It followed from having a sore knee. Sometimes my tendon behind my knee also aches/ feels strained.

This foot that is sore I also worried, in another thread, to be showing atrophy or perhaps a cavus arch as the arch seems more pronounced than the right foot...ive noticed this in a new pair of heels I bought- the sole of the shoe is more curved where ive worn them in than the right shoe. Also when walking I feel less contact with the sole of the shoe on impact with the ground on my left foot than my right.

This makes me not only suspect something like ALS/ MMN but also Charcot- Marie Tooth etc. I know it would be a weird way for ALS to exhibit itself- twitching and atrophy in a foot/ knee and thigh before clinical weakness. However, I was a sprinter in my teens/ early twenties [now 25 and too busy with work for such crazy exercise] and my legs are definitely the strongest part of my body- I have a lot of muscle here. Instead whenever I squat on tip toe or stand on tip toe the arch of my left foot hurts like crazy and feels like it's working very hard to keep me there. If i balance on my left tip toe i can only do it for half the time of my right foot. I'm not sure if this is down to my right leg perhaps being my dominant one [although I would kick with my left leg and it is my lead leg for sprinting] and therefore better balanced, or it is to do with my pelvis being out of whack on the left side putting strain on my knee and foot when balancing.

I am just looking for advice on how to proceed about my foot issues. If it is pain related to twitching [i do twitch in the arch of my foot] how long can it last and how do you manage it? Or if it is something else, what can I do as when I explained to my doctor i have this foot pain he just said, everyone gets aches and pains...and left it at that. I felt like saying, well if I were 65 and not 25 then I'd accept that...

Thank you!

Have you seen an orthopedist? Sounds like repetitive damage maybe from your running days?
