Hand atrophy ?

Can someone look at this for me and see if I'm just making things up?

1) notice no real weakness
2) grip on left hand isn't as strong as my right but I'm right hand dominant
3) there seems to be a tendon that I can make come out and feel on my left hand that I can only slightly feel on my right hand.
4) is it a tendon or a flap of skin?
5) is it atrophy?

My 5 min freak out of the day ! Thanks !

There is nothing that looks like atrophy, at least in the pictures you sent.

I had a freak-out session on the same topic and posted similar pictures a few weeks back. Gotta say - your pictures are better than mine! Nevertheless, my left hand is exactly like yours in comparison to my right hand. It has a much larger dent in the center and I feel that tendon between my index finger and thumb and more loose skin in that area on the left than the right. I also experience burning sensations, joint and bone pain and tremors in my left hand compared to my right and rapid machine-gun twitches or bussing in my left hand in the area where it is "dented." Also, my veins stick out on my left hand more than my right. Like you, I am right hand dominant. My GP and Neuro thought nothing of all of this. Neuro told me a few weeks ago that cannot be atrophy since I have no weakness and that is not normally where atrophy is. I have no noticeable clinical weakness, although my left hand is slightly weaker than my right (when I squeeze rubber exercise balls, etc). It is quite possible my left hand always looked like this and I never noticed. I keep looking at them and telling myself it is nothing, but at the same time, tend to not think they always looked like this. Mostly what bothers me is the pain and burning - the burning has been a good bit better this week, maybe because I have been resting my hands more and not stretching them. The pain and burning tends to me worse late in the day and at night. I think I could have given myself hand tendonitis. Hope this helps. I am rambling again!!

Thanks Guitarman!

I just think we are looking for something to be wrong when its something that might have always been there...

I hope your twitches decrease soon bud
