I have to ask...twitching brought on by orgasm?

Postby MCosta84 on October 19th, 2011, 4:07 am

I have been noticing while being intimate with my wife, that right before or during orgasm, my arches go nuts. Does anyone else have this, too? It kind worries me, as I thought BFS was random and had no known triggers.

I'm laughing so hard at Chrissi's response right now.

PS: BFS totally has triggers, including tensing your muscles. Most of us get twitches after exercise or really even movement, or use of the muscle. Makes total sense! (I'm still laughing at Chrissi's response).

Haha, I have to ask what position you are in that your feet cramp? JK, don't answer that!

BFS = excited nerves. During an orgasm I would expect your nerves are just about as excited as they will ever be. Hence yes, your body (my body, everyone's body) probably goes haywire at the moment of orgasm. In fact I would think you were weird if your twitches didn't behave this way.
BFS FAQ:
1. No, that's not bulbar
2. No, the location doesn't matter
3. Yes, we have all had that symptom
4. No, you're not the exception
5. No, that's not ominous
6. No, you don't need an EMG
7. Yes, you will be fine

This is an old thread but I searched for 'orgasm' and felt this was the right place to post my feelings.

I know that with BFS, the meds, the worry, that it can be hard to have a sexual desire, and then when it's there, then the orgasms can be hard to achieve.

I have noticed something different than what I've read....that orgasms first make my body totally still, for several minutes. I feel the most relaxed right afterwards, my twitches stop, but of course I have pulsing/tingling feelings. Twitches stop though. They can start up again, but when they do, it's at a slow pace.

It has made me wonder that if twitches can stop or slow (through orgasms or just any kind of relaxation), if that is an indicator of BFS (harmless twitching) or if these "twitch pauses" or fluctuation in frequency can also happen in MND?

I wouldn't think it an indicator of anything. But, I can tell you this much...if the anxiety and medications haven't wrecked your sex life, that this kind of thinking will.

I think that you will find that what you experience after orgasm is basically what you experience eventually all the time in regard to fascics....once you stop focusing on them, which you clearly shoudn't be after sex  , the twitching fades to the back ground and only exists when you think about them.

Of course, I'm going straight home and telling the wife that I found the cure for bfs today, on this site, and that we have work to do...........

Take care,
