Went to the "the ALS " specialist

Postby k2626 on December 17th, 2008, 4:36 pm

Okay, guys. I went to specialist yesterday and did feel dumb being there...but wanted to go through w it since it took so long to get in. The dr said that just by looking at me he was not concerned over anything serious. This is the 2nd dr that said he would be able to tell right away. He said with looking healthy, no weakness and a clean EMG I am FINE. He said the twitches are most likely BFS (HE brought this up) which can cause cramps and other oddities too. He said one can get BFS from viruses, stress etc and sometimes last months. He said the fact that the twitching seems to be getting btr makes him even less concerned. He said if they come back hard again and I worry again he said I can come back in, if anything, for reassurance.

Just wanted to share with others that are worried.

I have to say as I sat in the waiting room watching people come in and out who may or may not have a NMD I felt pretty bad
