Swallowing problems

Postby Antologia on April 16th, 2019, 10:07 am

Hello there,

I haven't been here in a long time. But, since summer 2018 I have some real swallowing problems. I went to the ENT, he send me to the neurologist now and he probably will send me to another specialist in a academic hospital. Today, he was wondering if the swallowing problems exist in more BFS patients. So it might be related to this. Anyone experiencing the same thing?

I have had slight swallowing problems for more than 4 years. You did not describe the nature of yours, so I will describe mine: sometimes, I have phlegm after eating but I have no reflux to explain that, sometimes I need to clear my throat or even cough once or twice to expel any residue.

I underwent videofluoroscopy that revealed slightly delayed laryngeal closure but with no aspiration of penetration. While not super common, still could be considered kind of physiological.

A know of another person with BFS and true, pathological finding from swallowing study - that was 5 years ago and he is still fine.
