Still alive

Postby sharon slack on September 14th, 2016, 10:48 am

I used to post here many years ago, this site helped me greatly. My twitching and associated symptoms, which included a lot of aching legs scared me and ruined several years of my life. I believe it all started after an infection. When I looked at the tip of my tongue twitching I really thought I was in deep trouble. I went to 9 different neurologists. When I look back I realise I was irrational. My twitching continues to this day and doesn't bother me as I no it's harmless. It's been a long time, so my point in popping back here is to let people know I had the worst of it mentally and physically, even now I believe my mind made it worse( I think) but no one could convince me or stop me worrying. I'm not sure at what point I stopped worrying, but it was a lot of wasted years. Please realise that your symptoms are benign, as a neurologist told me early on and I should have believed them, that they would expect someone with serious issues to show visible signs e.g dragging a leg, after 12 months of symptoms(twitching) if it was a serious issue. This forum looks dead lol. It's a great help but remember the mind can also inflame your rationale thinking. Love to all. Sharon
