hand weakness now

Hi there,

now my left hand is weak (again)...it is accompanied from neuropathic pain from ellbow to little finger. Lower arm muscle hurt when I press on it. It seems that also a tendon is involved.. 4th and 5th finger goes numb every night since a year... I know I am diagnosed with Sulcus Ulnar nerve syndrom and this may happen in this context. But I have similar pain in the other arm...but no weakness.
I feel sick in general, suspected to have herpes zoster again...(lab will confirm tomorrow). I am also suspected to have "collagenosis" of one doc, which is s.th. rheumatic...But rheuma clinic did not confirm, though ANA titer was 1: 320 that time....But of course there is always the fear of anything even more nasty...
Twitching since 18 month, more or less focal in left foot.
Symptoms since 2,5 years...weakness in left hand occured already but went away..nevertheless there is muscle decline in left (and also a little in right hand)

-..no not true. I realize same in my right hand now during my housekeeping. It scares me very much...

Would apreciate your toughts...

German, you mentioned before that your sulcus ulnar syndrome is bilateral, so it is quite common to expect same processes in the both hands.
As for your "fear of something else", timing is strongly against your fears.

Thanks Yuliasir, yes I think indeed it is sulcus related. I have this pain in sulcus nerve region...But it is always fearfull if Ii don't know the reason why this is all happening. Hoe really much thtat time is on my side...

The more is timeframe the less are chances to attribute that to ALS.
You may have neuritis due to many reasons - autoimmune is most probable - but please remember that this is INFLAMMATORY disease and ALS has no inflammation component (at least it is not qualified as neuritis). You definitely have some autoimmune processes in your body confirmed by blood tests so there is no real reason to think about other reasons.

I am seeing a spine specialist today. He should give me his opinion, why I have all this spine degeneration, especially the herniated disc in the thoracic spine, which is an absolutely rare sensation...And the lab will call, whether my new infection was again Herpes Zoster...I feel like it is a little too much for one person...;-)

so frequently recurrent herpes on my point of view means serious problems in the immune system (normally we may expect one strong onset every 10 to 20 years but not every several months). Chronic stress definitly suppresses immune system so I would rather keep a contact with the immunologists.

response from the lab..herpes negative..So it was a bacterial infection which caused the rashes....anyway. I know s.th. is definitively wrong. One of my doctors is so convinced that I do have a collagenosis that she offered me to give me the dx without any antibody proof (she herself has three ai deseases)...but I am sceptical to force that. Curious what the orthopaedist will say lateron today...

Thank you both for your responses...! Was at a professor for orthopedia. He confirmed maximal hypermobilitym even of throat spine and ordered a MRI of lumbar spine and neuro consil for my buzzing in left foot. He recomended me to have a skin biopsy to confirm Ehlers-Danlos because clinical diagnosis is not enough for some reason...

My elbow hurt more and more every day...and left hand gets worse..I just can wait how it develops..Next neuro appt. are in February...

But there is one positive aspect with the worsening symptoms now (twitching still more or less just focal, just a few twitches here and there). If there would be anything nasty, it would now definitely show up in the clinical, I think. I've got an appt. with a very good neuro today, via this ortho prof. He works in a hospital and one normally has no acces to this neuro. So waiting on 17th of february on what he says..
