What are your symptoms? And what tests did you have done that the doc now suspects that?

Hyperreflexia, or pathological hyperreflexia? There's a difference.

No weakness?

No clinical weakness, perceived perhaps. Pathology of reflexes were not discussed.

Juan,

You haven't said anything that backs up a diagnosis of possible ALS. Most of us on here have hyper reflexes or brisk reflexes and of course, we all have fasciculations. No clinical weakness, etc. Personally, I had brisk reflexes bilaterally, positive Hoffman's sign on my right hand only, and fasciculations in all 4 limbs plus my tongue. And my doctor told me my exam was "normal". So, did the doctor actually say to you that he/she suspects ALS or did you infer that from them telling you about the reflexes and fasciculations?

These short messages cause so much anxiety to the people who come to this board for re-assurance. If you're going to post something like this, please provide more than a few words. I wish you the best.

-Matt

He said ALS suspect based on hyperreflexia and fascics. He's doing all blood, MRI, eeg tests.

I have to admit, I am a little puzzled. The ALS specialist I saw had zero concern with my brisk reflexes and was not impressed with my widespread twitching. Perhaps your dystrophy is his primary concern?
