In a rough place again.

Postby Arkansan on July 7th, 2014, 7:24 pm

I have had a break down again. This last month has led me back to the pit of ALS fear. I had really though I was past it. After I got past my fear of PD I was doing much better, I was barely noticing any twitches and what not.

Now I am having twitches all over. Just a moment ago I had one on my tongue and then a second later on in my ear. I am having them all about my face, my legs and from time to time my arms. My right knee is still tight and somewhat painful. From time to time I feel like I wobble or stumble slightly on that leg. I have the spots of pain all over. After hitting the bag the other day the muscles in my hands are very sore and I get bouts of tightness in the wrists and hands. My right hand feels stiff compared to my left. I also just seem to feel a good bit of tightness all over, and then in my legs I feel a crawly sensation sometimes, I can't tell if it is twitches or not. Also my right calf feels tight and painful sometimes if flexed.

Most worrisome to me is I that I seem to have some muscle pain and slight tightness in my back and neck at night. Though it seems to be largely from the shoulders up.

I am terrified that I am in the early phases of something serious, even though I know I have been here before. Best I remember this has been going on for just over two years now. I have not been to a neurologist and can't see one at the moment. I have seen a highly respected internist and sleep specialist as well as my GP, both did office clinicals on me and were not concerned. However those clinical were done at about 4-6 months in to all of this could they have been to early to catch something? Is the amount of time passed a good sign? Right now my neck is very tight and I have a headache which is not helping anything.

It has been a rough few months what with my brother nearly dying, some family and financial problems. I feel like I'm lost again, which is sad because I really thought I was past this stage.

please try to remember the basic of what has been well documented and communicated. i don't need to repeat them as you know them all

what i found help is documenting the facts. this is something that cognitive behavioral therapy teaches you. follow the facts and don't let your imagination take over

you the know facts as well as anyone

read good cop, bad cop (search it) its worth the read

i twitch all over all day non-stop

Nope I have not had an EMG which is what worries me the most. However it has been a few months over two years since all of this started with me, I do have a history of anxiety in general particularly health anxiety. I did however have a clinical done by a GP and a highly respected Internal medicine specialist roughly 4 to 6 months into everything, neither of them found any cause for concern.

Yeah stress does seem to be a major trigger for me.

Question, does anyone else here have limb jerks? Like sometimes when I am sitting down my right knee will jerk back and forth real quick. I am worried that this is a bad sign. It only seems to be when sitting and I only really recall it in the right knee. It has done it in the past though. I thought this was sign of serious stuff?

Any one have any recommendations for coping with it when I really start to have a moment of fear?

Glad to know I am not alone on the limb jerking thing.

My knee has me so stressed out. It feels slightly tight now and has for around a month I guess, I have pain in that leg as well as my butt on that same side. Just to test it I threw a few kicks with that leg a few minutes ago and now I am having sharp pains in that leg in the knee cap and the area about it, the quad I guess? I also notice that very small amounts of use produce a sensation of tightness in the muscles of that leg sometimes. Sometimes I will have a dull pinching type pain just above my rear on that side at the same time I will be having pain elsewhere in that leg. Sometimes I have the same sort of pain in the other leg but not as often or as bad. Also my twitches are predominant in my lower body, particularly the right leg where all the other problems are.

Is all of this normal? Does this still sound like a BFS thing?

I don't see anything concerning here

Perhaps not all related to bfs but nothing concerning

As many neros say...pain that's a good thing and a good sign

Yeah it's just driving me nuts here lately. I am having dull pinching type pains in my elbows some and if I feel of a muscle anywhere it is really sore and tender to the touch. This morning sitting in the PAs office with my brother I started having this pain deep inside my left bicep. It is all so strange and not it feels like sometimes my muscles are randomly tight or they will get that way after brief use, they tighten up for a second but not every time. It is all just starting to wear me out mentally. To top it all off I am twitching all over again.

This morning it felt like the back of my tongue was buzzing, like I couldn't tell if it was just a sensation or really rapid twitches. It may have been more a tingle but either way weird. Anyone else have that?

I am making an appointment this week to get back on something for anxiety, I feel like it may be the best course at this point.
