Yup. That's exactly right. A big part of me getting past the whole ALS scare was forcing myself to research my symptoms online, and learning that tons, and tons, and tons, (did I say tons?) of other harmless conditions share our symptoms. Neuropathies, and a whole spectrum of "shades of gray" with nerve damage, neuromuscular issues, etc exist. Isn't it just like us human beings to focus on the worst and adopt it without permission? It was really helpful for me to learn that there were so many other possible disorders out there, many of which involve TREATMENTS and CURES.
