new evidence of an autoimmune link for me

Dear All,

Let me first say that I don't think that my autoimmune diagnosis is necessarily relevant to other BFSers (BFS appears to be related to lots of stuff, including viruses that are self-limiting). That said, I'd like to share that after a year of these symptoms and no real hypotheses, my rheumatologist thinks I may have Sjogren's Syndrome (based on a dry eye exam and some blood work). He charaterized this as generally a 'benign' disoreder. He said that some patients have overlapping fibromyalgia (and neuralgia). This seems to be the driving force of my BFS. The lupus and RA tests all came back negative (a year ago I had a positive ANA, but that has been normal the last 3 times). Anyway, in my case, this may provide some answers.

I will say my symptoms have been substantially improved over the last 6 months. But I think I will have to reconcile myself to the fact that what I experience now may be long-lasting.

I appreciate the support by many at this site. Will keep working to find relief and improvement of symptoms.

Thanks
JGB
