BFS & Metatarsalgia

I've had BFS since 2004 and am now experiencing new symptoms. The balls of both feet are quite painful. I've always had foot cramps and tingling feet, but the pain in the forefoot is new. I'm going to a podiatrist next week. I'm wondering if the pain is simply BFS expressing itself in a new, more intense way in a new area, or something different and unrelated like metatarsalgia. Any thoughts, experiences to share?

Usually BFS and foot pain are unrealted unless you are hypermobile (many BFSers are hypermobile). Hypermobility may be a reason for joint pains and nerve pinchment in the foot of course.
