Posted about this awhile ago. Had a "eureka" moment that sent me on a wild research chase to figure out WTF had just happened to me. After 3 months of a locked up calf muscle, I drank the most painfully bitter pomegranate juice (which clearly contained all the pulp from the parts you're not supposed to juice (the skins). Think of how orange peels taste when you eat them - that kind of bitter. Within 3 minutes of drinking it, my calf muscle and entire body just "released". I could feel it washing over my entire body and it startled me. Immediately landed on these studies done with sports teams showing that pickles and apparently other similar chemicals - maybe also in pomegranate/skins - can almost instantly relieve cramped muscles. Its legit.
