Question about Foot Drop

What exactly is a foot drop? Would I know for sure if I had one?

The reasons I ask is because just a moment ago whilst walking in my house I felt like my right foot had a falling sensation as I stepped. It landed normally as far as I can tell and I didn't trip up or anything. Could this be the beginning of one or am I just over analyzing something?

Clinically quite obvious - inability to lift up your feet (i.e. the front part of it). This results in dragging the foot or steppage gait, i.e. a person walks as if he clims up the stairs - raising his thighs high in order to compensate and raise the foot high enough.

So most likely I'm just over thinking nothing. Sounds about right for me.

I am quite sure you are ;)

Simple test - can you walk on your heels? With the footdrop, you would not be able to even lift the front part of the foot because of the tibialis anterior weakness.

So do not worry!
