What is the difference between insufficient venous flow causing legs to fall asleep.

Is the pins and needles blood flow, or nerve problem?

Well - pins and needles can be both blood supply and nerves. When you shake the limb/or stretch it, etc. - does the feeling come back?

Kerri what you are reffering to isnt really anything to be concnerned about, when I stretch my left leg out, I get pins and needles in my foot...more than likely the culprit is sitting too much in front of the computer in awkward postures. Most people get pins and needles from time to time, but when you stand up or let the blood flow increase it goes away...you only need to worry if you get pins and needles and it doesnt go away, for hours/days/weeks
