I know I have asked this question before, but how many of you have brisk knee reflexes, mine kick just a little when the neurologist hits them.

What is a normal knee reflex

I never paid any attention until this point.

I mean until BFS.

a normal reflex is when your leg kicks a little...if you have brisk...its caused by your nerves (anxiety thats lingering around) but is still normal...meaning your normal... hyper reflexes would be totally obvious and your doc would notice with his eyes closed.

Mine have been called "brisk" by more then one doctor - never associated it with BFS until now, though.

Two neuros told me, that brisk knee reflexes are not a good indicator of MND, because many people (especially young) have brisk knee reflexes. Brisk reflexes may also apear when you are stressed.

When I visited my neuros I was always very stressed and I felt that my knee reflexes are brisk during exam. But doctors always said "distinct but clinically normal". I heard that more important is Babinsky (but this pathology apears in further phase of MND).
