Hi Everyone,
Started taking Fluoxetin 10mg on 18-Feb. Once per day, in the morning.
I've noticed these things happen:
1) I am more excitable/anxious during the day. I read about this, that it can happen as a side effect at first. I also read that I can take Opipramol (what I was taking for 1.5 years and still have lots left over) at night to help me sleep. So I take 50mg of that at night in combo with the Fluoxetin.
2) A numb or swollen feeling in the back of my throat. This is a hard thing for me to describe. It is not a lump feeling, it is not dry throat - I've had those things big time before. It's not painful. It feels like it's swollen more than numb because I feel myself needing to inhale deeper, take deeper breaths to get air. But I use "numb" because when I swallow it feels different, like as if I can't really feel something going down - but just confined to the back of my throat, and is mildly noticable.
I've searched on this site for prozac/swallowing/throat/fluoxetin but I've found mostly entries about people who had the lump feeling but then it was relieved by Prozac. I am writing to ask if anyone who has taken Prozac/Fluoxetin to see what side effects you experienced, if these two above sound familiar and if they went away after a certain period of time. I will also talk to my neurologist about it on Wednesday.
I've looked online and for swollen or swallowing issues, that is listed more as an allergic reaction. For me, I am not sure this is allergic since it is mild. If I were allergic, wouldn't I be experiencing more intense issues?
Thanks!
