New member and symptoms

Hi all,

New member here. Basically in January after 3 months or so of extreme health and general anxiety I noticed all sorts of twitches in my body especially when at rest. Went to Neuro a few weeks after and he told me I had BFS (no EMG though until Oct). He did thorough clinical exam and saw no red flags at all.

Symptoms have been bizarre: weird dry feeling in back of tongue (basically faded but lasted a month or two), facial muscle tension (comes and goes), severe upper back and shoulder tension (better after massage), sore thumb when bending (this is current issue), all sorts of random aches and pains (elbows, knees, finger, heel), muscle trembling in one bicep (faded), feel more tired after working out. Do these sounds BFS related?

I also feel like I get injured easier than before the twitching. Have been treating the high anxiety, had intense worries that I have motor neuron disease that I am still trying to get past. The twitching still happens but as I have treated that anxiety, it has gotten a bit better. Hate the random aches and pains - these bother me more than the twitches. Any advice?

It certainly does all sound bfs related. Bfs is a whole constellation of symptoms - many unpleasant, some entertaining if you can understand it it not linked to a nasty disease. It certainly is mysterious, leading the mind to make all kinds of connections that really aren't there. Good luck, and poke around this board a lot, using the search function helps find answers. Most things have been discussed dozens of times. Welcome.

I have had constant twitching in both my calf's and feet for 5years now along with cramping.I find that exercise makes it worse and I am worried that I might do some damage if I work out. I would like to improve my fitness level but I afraid of aggravating my bfs. Any ideas or advice ?
Thanks

Just do what your body tells you to do. You will know if you are over doing it but don't mind the BFS if your strong and capable and twitching he'll keep going get it in. I do sometimes the twitching gets to me but it doesn't hurt your body.

Thanks for the responses and advice. It's such a vicious circle for me. One day the twitching will be minimal, but the muscle tension in my shoulders will be bothersome. Random joint pain in my thumb will appear out of nowhere. Some days I feel I have more strength the exercise than others and I feel my muscles stay sore longer post workout.

My neuro diagnosed me with no EMG, but I pushed him to schedule one for sept. A bit worried about being diagnosed with no emg.
