Fascikulationer og krampe

Postby Bibi on May 21st, 2014, 4:45 pm

Hi allI am a 55årig woman who have had fascikulationer for about 4 weeks. I have been to a neurologist and he made a clinical examination by me and said that it looked fine, no signs of the MND as I was afraid of. I asked if I should not have created EMG, but he said that it would not give the diagnosis the clinical examination it would do. I was relieved that the clinical examination showed signs of MND, but is still very afraid of my symptoms as is: many (all the time) fascikulatoner in the left leg and foot, small fascikulationer in the right foot and a heavy and stiff feeling in the right leg. Occasionally, I also have fascikulationer in the hands and face cramps in my feet and legs, had terrible night the other day! I really think that my symptoms sound like MND and my age is indeed worrying. can I trust that the clinical study would have discovered the MND after such a short time symptoms? Greeting a very afraid Bibi

I WROTE below:

IN ENGLISH:

I guessed this was Swedish - I put it into bing translate and Voila! Welcome Bibi. I am 47 and understand your fear. Almost everyone here can relate to it. It will be better in time, even if the symptoms don't change. You sound like the rest of us and yes, from all we know - the neurological exam is the most telling/important thing! They say MND "does not hide" there are usually obvious signs. Welcome here and good luck. P.S. I have a cousin who is a neurologist in Sweden, initials are A.A. Your doctor? Also, one thing I notice is there are MANY members here from Scandinavia, British Isles, Germany, and the US

I'm guessing Norwegian or Danish (my first guess), not Swedish (since my mom is Swedish, I know enough Swedish to know that's not it). But, all close enough and easily translatable from one to the other! :) Good work, Leaflea!

I made a mistake and didn't put her first into English. Fixed it. Bibi, it will help you get responses if you use copy and past into google traslate...

Leaflea,

You are especially wise for picking up that it's a Scandinavian language so easily. I am extremely impressed! And kudos for doing the translating.

And from what I understand, Bibi - you have nothing to worry about and you're in the same boat as the rest of us. Please trust your doctor and know that you're okay, and have benign fasciculations like the rest of us.
