Tongue Pain, Hand Pain, Cysts?

Hey Guys,

So, I've been doing much much better. Baby steps, progression......happiness!

My rule of thumb is to wait at least 1 week to see if my new "symptoms' go away, if they do or don't, wait another week until I consider coming here for advise.

Well, I made it over a MONTH with my most recent symptoms and concerns, but I figured I should ask, because my anxiety over the issues have increased over the past few days.

ESSENTIALLY, over the past month or two, I've been getting WHITE HARD SPOTS on the tip of my tongue and on the sides, along with more twitches. My only concern is that there is some kind of change going on in my mouth chemistry and I wonder if it is related to BFS? I'm almost certain it can't be related to anything that would be the starting symptom of a NMD.

This is the weirdest thing. 3 Weeks ago I was lifting weights and I noticed a pain on the outside of my left hand, by the pinky. I touched a bump that was forming, and it seems like a cyst. I didn't think anything of it and wasn't concerned about ***. Then, last week, with the "CYST" still on my left hand by my pink knuckle, I developed another "CYST," but this one is on the palm of the hand, by the middle finger.....each on my left hand. So, over 4 or 5 weeks, I now have two pains on my hand and it is becoming difficult to lift weights, type, etc. I was curious, could this be related to BFS? It seems opposite of any kind of NMD, I mean, I can "FEEL' the PAIN, so I'm not that worried about NMD, but it HAS CROSSED MY MIND. Coupled with this has been an INCREASE and really the 1st time I've noticed twitching in my LEFT HAND. So, left hand twitches, tingles, buzzes, zaps along with more tongue buzzes, twitches, zaps, coupled with ZAPS in my head, sharp headaches.

I'm handling this better than I would have 2-3 years ago. I've come far, I'm doing ok, but I still admit that I fear *** almost daily, and I figured I should check in with my most recent symptoms to see if I'm doing "OK," making good progression in accepting BFS, or if I need to see a DOCTOR.

Thanks guys and girls, thanks for everything over the years, and I look forward to reading some feedback and seeing if I'm as ok as I think I am.

it is hard to say exactly what is going on, but the only think I can say it that it is not related to MND.

But on my point of view you MUST see a rheumathologist and endocrinologist becasue white painful 'cysts' might indicate deposition of calcium or urates in your soft tissues, and this might mean metabolic diseases like gout (urates) or parathyroid troubles (calcium).

Seemingly you do not have ALS but gout is not a disorder you may neglect for example. It casues a hell of pain later and needs diet and treatment.
people with gout also experience a kind of psychic changes becasue urates are methabolised to substances which have exitatory properties, so they may be anxious, overalert etc.

Thank You Yuliasir,

Long time no talk! I still am without insurance, but if I get it -- perhaps this new one in the news  , I may register soon-- than I will get my hands checked out and see what the issue is. It is so unusual, the hand pain, the 2 bumps.....maybe it is gout?

I think I'm doing much better, and it seems that these symptoms point away from ALS.

But, still reading things like
Seemingly you do not have ALS
scares me, because if seems like there is still a chance and because I'm having such unusual symptoms, everything is up in the air.

Thanks again Yuliasir, hope all is well for you!

HI, really mong time no talk!

and becasue you still react in that way for any mention of ALS, you also need to look for pshychologist help I believe :))

there is no disease in the world which can encompass ALL possible signs (maybe only in HOUSE MD, but even here play writers had to consult with real doctors and that is why lupus, one of the most common autoimmune disorders, was mentioned becoming a kind of mark for the series ;) becasue it attacks many systems and may present in various forms. but anyway, even lupus has its own clinical picture and it is not common with epilepsy for example or with bipolar disease or with diabetes :)))
saying 'seemingly' I meant that 'it is quite obvious', you know :))

as for the bumps, just go and check with rheumo, endo, immunologist as soon as you would be able. Gout is really much unpleaseant than perceived ALS (it casues a hell of pain and might significantly limit mobility if unattended), so I wish you a good luck and resolution of your fears.

Yuliasir, thank you!

Here for my monthly check in, I love the 'House' analogy, that is a good point.

The hand stuff comes and goes, so I believe it may not be anything to serious or was a simple sports injury.

However, lately I've been having much more presistent and longer lasting tongue twitches than ever. Very fine ones on the middle of my tongue.

This is my biggest fear. I'm hoping this doesn't set me back in my progression and acceptance of BFS and most importantly I hope it isn't what I fear. ***

I'm simply not used to this kind of twitch, especially in this location :(
