Mannheim Laurent. Wait, i will give you the link to his homepage: http://www.weiss.de/
I have lots of stuff here but mainly everything is written on his homepage. All other stuff he explained to me when I was there. Diagnosis is only made by the numbers in germany, so it is plain and simple Tendomyofaciales syndrom and Sotatoforme Störung.

Wow, I so wished I could speak German so I could read that link. But, so thankful that you can speak english. Thanks so much for your post. It defintately needs to be stickied.
I was told in the beginning by an urgent care doctor that it was hyperventilation syndrome, but I just totally ignored that. I just assumed that he wasn't taking me seriously. I mean I was freaked so of course I was having issues breathing. It's good to know that that definately plays a part in all this. That totally makes sense.
I have also had pain. In fact I had terrible pain in my left hand one night about 1 month before all this bfs started. Since then I have struggled with episodes of pain in both . I wondered about fibro too. My GP did bloodwork looking for Auto Immune disorders and didn't find anything. Could I have fibro? Could I be the same case as what your doctors are saying for you? I feel when I read this post that It was directly talking to me. I will be reading over and over again. Please, Please keep us informed. This is soo exciting!!!

Do you guys think that muscle twitching can be apart of a somitization disorder?

Absolutely it can. Muscle twitching = your muscles aren't getting enough oxygen or nutrients or vitamins. Somatization can definitely lead to that if it gets out of control.

Definately. In somatisation disorder people also tend to tense up their muscles ( v. dystonia) and this tension makes them freak out. So if you relax those muscles start to fire as if you had done tons of sports (twitching after psysical exertion is also very normal). Combined with the fact that with wrong breathing like hyperventilation your body HAS way enough odygen, but due to the lack of CO2 is cannot be transported properly to the muscles and the alkalicity (is that right word in english, I mean opposite od being acid) increases and this also makes yur muscles twitch. He said basically his patients twitch a lot.

Somatoform disorders is the umbrella term used to described; somatisation, conversion disorders, hypochondriasis and body dysmorphic disorder and pain disorders that don't follow an organic pathology. This classification can read in, DSM-1V codes. Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. it makes very dull reading, so no need to get hung up on it :D I think I have it all so I am in good company !! :D

Please please! don't think that means you a mad/ crazy/ messed up any more than anyone else. It really means nothing. DSM 1V is a very medical model manual of psychological derived conditions so things can be put in little boxes. They just love putting things in little boxes!.... You are human above all else with experiences that's all. Nothing more nothing less. But if you want to bore yourself to death I believe there is a digital version of DSM 1V you can read online if you register.

I absolutely believe I have it. And actually I think most of us here do.I met people there that told me in the beginnings they were stuc at home because their symptoms were so bad they could hardly walk.
I think somatoform disorder is nothing to be ashamed of, but I know that people usually do not accept it. I first was told I had anxiety disorder but I found that this just doesn't really sound like my condition, especially after my anxiety left and symptoms still got worse.. but for all readings about somatoform disorder...it fits for me.
