Carmen, I've been itchy for years even before BFS. Generalized and random. Fun stuff!

Hey I am only 4 months into this BFS stuff and the past two weeks i have slowly come on with itchy skin. It appears in random places over my body but most espcially my scalp, inside ears and on my lips but last night i had itchy eyes. :D Plus side is that my foot twitches have subsided and mysterious right hip pain, but i have been getting electrical shock (like a rubber band snapping sensation) over my body. I find its worse when im lying or sitting down, but disappears when im distracted. Only yesterday my p-doc said was my anxiety playing on my sensory system :)

I believe the itchy skin was actually one of the first symptoms I experienced, 4-5 years ago. I just diagnosed my self with BFS last year (once I had full blown sensory issues and fasiculations. It started on my scalp and now really is all over my body. It is worsened by stress, dry weather, poor nutrition etc. Of course, stress reduction is #1. But then, I just lotion, and oil my self 2-3times per day. Once a week I sleep with an oil on my scalp (the kind made for african american hair). This really controls my scalp itching and helps keep my hair from falling out. Sometimes the itch is just a reaction to stress and only your mind can control that. I will break out in some areas with ecsema type symptoms and this is helped by couple of doses of topical steroid cream.
